Chelsea and Brittany Berges continue domination of NAIA track and field
TRACK & FIELD- 06/25/08:
Former OHS All-State Track & Field athletes Chelsea and Brittany Berges have continued their success in NAIA competition as members of the Oklahoma Christian University Lady Eagles track team. They have finished 1-2 in the 100-meter hurdles at two events this season, the Southwest University Invitational and the Oklahoma Christian University Ray Vaughn Classic.
Both girls have competed in the javelin throw, with both scoring multiple top 6 finishes. In the discus,
place spot on the NAIA national scorecard.

Sonics to move to Oklahoma City
NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION- 07/02/08:
The Seattle SuperSonics and the City of Seattle reached an agreement in their tempestuous Key Arena lease dispute on Wednesday (7/2), just hours before a U.S. District Court judge was to rule in the case. Under the settlement agreement, Professional Basketball Club (PBC) LLC, an Oklahoma City investment group led by Clay Bennett, which purchased the Sonics last year, agreed to pay the City of Seattle $45 million in order to terminate the Key Arena lease. In turn, the agreement will allow the Sonics to move to Oklahoma City immediately.

Gus Macker headed back to Mount Pleasant
BASKETBALL- 08/02/08 & 08/03/08:
MOUNT PLEASANT, IA:
More than 600 basketball players are expected to descend upon the streets of downtown Mount Pleasant in August when the city hosts the Gus Macker three-on-three tournaments. The tournament is for players of all ages and skill levels.
The Macker always draws teams from several different states, and its popularity has continued to grow over the years. Henry County Convention and Visitor's Bureau representative Eric Rawson states that the mail-in registration deadline is July 11th, and that teams can register online through July 14th. The tournament will be held on August 2nd and 3rd.
